All Steuben County Fire, Man your stations for a Code 100. Multiple calls going out over the county if you do not have to drive, do not drive, there are a lot of places flooded, please do not drive if you do not have to. Multiple people are trapped surrounded by flood waters.
Flash Flood Warning Issued by NWS Binghamton
At 1107 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain across the warned
area and reports are of road washouts have been called into 911 in Steuben County.
Between 2 and 3 inches of rain has already fallen.
Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.
HAZARD…Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing
flash flooding. The NWS advises against all unnecessary travel.
PLEASE do not call 911 for road conditions in your area. Any power outages should be reported to your utility company.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
