Steuben County Deputies locate missing man in Urbana ravine, “alert and conscious”

Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that at about 9:10am on August 09, 2024, Deputies and Investigators of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office responded to the area of Taggart Road in the Town of Urbana, New York, due to a report of a missing person. It was reported that a 54-year-old man had left home the previous evening at about 4pm and not returned and was not answering his phone. Deputies located the man’s vehicle near Taggart Road, and found the man at about 9:48am, injured and unable to walk, having spent the night outside in the rain near a ravine. The Hammondsport Fire Department responded with a UTV and transported the patient to the roadway where he was transported by ambulance to a medical treatment facility. The man was alert and conscious during the transport.

Sheriff Allard thanks the Hammondsport Fire Department for their assistance in this investigation and recovery.
