Summer’s bounty by the Steuben County Jail Garden!! Over 200 lbs of tomatoes!

Jail inmates and staff are eating what they grow and donating even more fresh food

From the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office,

The Sheriff’s Correction Staff and Trinity Food Services Team are happy to report that another donation of produce from the jail garden will be donated today, primarily tomatoes! Today’s donation includes:

220# Roma Tomatoes

76# Slicing Tomatoes

16# Summer Squash

So far our incarcerated individuals have harvested 1500 pounds of produce and donated 65% of it. Yesterday, the Trinity Food Services Team who prepare meals for our residents and staff were able to serve steamed corn from the garden as well as a large garden salad.
