All “peddlers” must be registered and insured to do business in Canisteo
From the Village of Canisteo:
After seeing posts on Facebook last evening, I am letting folks know there is a roofing company going door to door in the village. We have stopped a job this morning which allowed us to make contact with the owners of this company, based out of Toledo, Ohio. They had not registered with the Village so that we could ensure they are licensed and carry proper insurance. They have been advised of the proper permit requirements, so once they provide the proper documentation, they may continue working within the village limits. Just a reminder, when peddlers come door to door, especially those not local, please ask them if they’ve checked in with the Village to ensure they meet the requirements that can protect you later if necessary.
