Big night for Hornell soccer, boys win 17-0 setting up showdown in Canisteo, girls win 10-0; Volleyball now 9-0

The Hornell boys and girls soccer teams had a huge Monday night with the boys winning 17-0 over Rochester Prep and the girls picking up a 10-0 win over Rochester Prep in Hilton.

The boys have a huge game tonight in Canisteo-Greenwood. The 8-1-1 Red Raiders, who bounced back from their only loss of the season to Livonia with wins over Dansville and Rochester prep, are at Canisteo-Greenwood (8-3-1).

The boys also play Rochester Prep again at home on Thursday at 5 p.m.

Gabriel Rasephei and Pasquale Picco each scored three goals and Marco Picco scored two during the 17-0 victory on Monday for the boys. Wyatt Evningham had a big first half with a goal and four assists.

Ryan Harkenrider, Aquiles Souza, Gabriel Rasephei, Christian Valle and Anatole Colson also had goals and Kellen Crowe had two assists.

In the girls’ win, Brynna Wilkinson had three goals, Ella White had two goals and A’jonay Hawkins, Matalia Rodrigues Perez de mendiola, Selena Maldanado and Parker Graham also scored.

The girls (8-1-1) are at Penn Yan on Thursday night.

Volleyball

The Hornell girls’ volleyball team swept Dansville, 3-0 on Monday night to improve to 9-0 on the season, trialing 9-2 World of Inquiry in Section V Class B.

NY Land Quest congratulates all student athletes

Lyla Dyring had 12 assists, thre aces and a kill while Aleah Stuart had six aces.

Hornell faces Cal-Mum on Wednesday.
