Chief Brzozowski: “They’ve tackled every challenge with enthusiasm”

The Board of Public Safety unanimously approved the appointments of Austin Wheatcraft and Justin Morse from firefighter trainee to firefighters effective January 9, 2025.
Chief Frank Brzozowski commended the newly appointed firefighters, stating, “Austin and Justin have adapted well to the demands of the job and stepped up with anything needed in the department. Their backgrounds as volunteer firefighters have been a strong foundation, and they’ve tackled every challenge with enthusiasm. I’m confident they will excel in the upcoming 12-week fire academy, which begins in February, and continue to be valuable members of our department.”
Wheatcraft and Morse were originally appointed as provisional firefighter trainees in July 2024, with both bringing extensive volunteer firefighting experience to the department.
Mayor John Buckley expressed enthusiasm for the appointments, stating, “Austin and Justin have already demonstrated their dedication to public safety and service. Firefighting and emergency services are at the heart of keeping our residents safe, and I look forward to the contributions they will make in protecting our City and its residents.”
