Steuben County has launched an innovative overdose tracking dashboard designed to deliver real-time data to residents, healthcare providers, and community organizations.

The publicly accessible tool aims to enhance transparency and support collaborative efforts in combating the opioid epidemic.

The dashboard provides monthly reports and an interactive map that identifies overdose hotspots within 140-square-mile zones. It also highlights locations where Narcan, a life-saving medication that reverses opioid overdoses, is available for public use.

According to county Public Health officials, the initiative seeks to empower communities with crucial information to promote both prevention and intervention. By making data readily accessible, the county hopes to streamline efforts to address the opioid crisis effectively.

“The opioid epidemic is a challenge that requires comprehensive community engagement,” said a county representative. “This dashboard is a step toward fostering greater awareness and action in saving lives.”

Steuben County’s dashboard reflects a broader trend of leveraging data-driven solutions to combat public health crises, providing stakeholders with the tools needed to adapt strategies in real-time.
