Academic All-Stars Teams Mark Their Second Week of Competition

Allegany and Steuben County schools compete “Jeopardy” style

From the Academic All-Stars,

STEUBEN COUNTY- The second week of competition of Academic All-Stars featured some tight matches, and even a bat flying around a gymnasium apparently wanting to get in on the action!

In the Large School Division Bath continued their winning streak by defeating Corning Black in a nail biter 37 – 36.  Corning Gold was victorious over Hornell 29 – 20.

Naples was able to best Addison 24 – 13 in the Medium-Large School Division.  The second match saw Canisteo-Greenwood come out on top of Campbell Savona 36 – 14.

The Medium-Small School Division saw Alfred-Almond extend their strong start with a victory over J-T 68 – 28, while Hammondsport held on to their winning record beating Arkport 36 – 31.

In the Small School Division two teams had their first wins of the season.  Canaseraga defeated Prattsburgh 37 – 21, and Bradford beat Avoca 30 – 26.

There will be no matches next week due to the Winter Break for area schools, however competition will pick up again on February 24 with matches in Corning, Campbell Savona, Arkport, and Avoca.
