The Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program

From North Hornell Chief of Police Kyle Amidon,

The Village of North Hornell Police Department received another grant award letter for the funding of an Electronic Fingerprint Unit through the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program in the amount of $30K to purchase a new electronic fingerprint unit to process arrests.  This will be an upgrade to the officers from using ink and fingerprint cards which is becoming obsolete and not recommended by New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services.  The grant funding will cover all necessary equipment, software and a maintenance package.

The Village of North Hornell and the North Hornell Police Department are thankful for these continued grant funds and will continue to search and execute grant opportunities to assist with taxpayer savings.
