Alfred State lecturer Morgan McLean (Agriculture & Veterinary Technology Department) was honored with the Student Advocate Award during the 41st annual Honors Convocation. Student Senate President Unique Isom presented the award that is given to college employees that have gone above and beyond to help students be successful.
Students credit McLean for being enthusiastic and loving what she teaches. She listens to students and finds out what they are interested in and works to add new classes and plan tours to visit places to add to their educational experiences.
One nominating student remarked, “She wants to make changes for the betterment of the agriculture department and is willing to help with anything agricultural related.”
McLean informs students of job opportunities, helps them fill out applications, mentors students, and is willing to be a reference.
McLean was presented with a golden apple and a certificate to commemorate the award.
