It is with sadness we inform you of the passing of an employee, which occurred on campus early this afternoon, Wednesday, August 13.
The Alfred Village Police Department and local emergency services responded to the scene, as did the Allegany County Coroner’s Office. Authorities are continuing their investigation and are in the process of notifying the next of kin. We can provide no further information at this time but will provide updates as they become available.
In-person counseling services are available at the university’s Counseling Center weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. To connect with counseling services outside of regular office hours, please contact the Alfred University Office of Public Safety at 607-871-2108.
