Hornell improves to 5-0-0 on the season with their 4-0 shutout win over the Caisteo-Greenwood Chargers at home Saturday night.

The Red Raiders got on the board with just under 20 minutes left in the first half when senior Wyatt Evingham scored off a penalty kick.

Hornell went on to score 3 goals in the second half.  Marco Picco scored two goals and Gabriel Rasephei scored one to put the Raiders up 4-0.

Wyatt Evingham, Gabriel Rasephei, & Nick Gray each had an assist in the win.

Hornell goalkeeper, Alfie Whiteley hasn’t given up a goal yet this season.

“After a tough 4-game week, the boys put together a great second half to beat a tough Canisteo-Greenwood team,” said Hornell head coach Jim Tobin.  “Our defenders were very solid.  Marco Picco and Anatole Colson played great offensively tonight.”

The Red Raiders have another full schedule this week.  They will host Class A powerhouse Aquinas Institute tonight (Monday) at Maple City Park.  They take on Wilson Magnet on Wedneday and will finish the week on the road as they face Addison on Friday evening.  Hornell is currently seeded #2 in Class B behind #1 seed Mynderse Academy.
