Carbone seeks re-election, Cardamone, Bradley, Gadsden want your vote
From the Hornell Democratic Committee,
Four Democrats are running for city council seats this year:
- Ward 3: Diedre Cardamone is a first-time candidate. She is an academic success coach and mathematics instructor at Alfred State College. She is also the vice chair of the Hornell Democratic Committee. Read more about Diedre in her recent announcement on the Sun
- Ward 6: John Bradley is running for the second time. He is a self-employed instructional design consultant. He also chairs the Hornell Democratic Committee and is the secretary of the Steuben County Democratic Committee.
- Ward 7: Okeena Gadsden is a first-time candidate. She works for the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision.
- Ward 10: John Carbone has served on the Common Council for over 20 years. He owns The Main Place.
Currently, only one seat on the City Council is occupied by a Democrat. When one party has an overwhelming majority, alternative solutions to local challenges tend to be ignored. With your support, we will elect four more Democratic aldermen/alderwomen and bring political balance back to our local government.
Only about 16% of registered voters cast ballots in the 2023 city council election. The Hornell Democratic Committee urges you to vote in the general election and to select these Democratic candidates if you live in their wards. Make your voice heard!
