The Alfred State Center for Civic Leadership is hosting a pair of community events in the next couple of weeks. The community is encouraged to join members of the ASC community at both events.

The CommUNITY Potluck returns on Friday, October 24 in the upstairs area of the Alfred Village Hall. Bring a dish to pass to share a taste of “home” and help enhance the culture of care in Alfred. The event takes place between 6 – 8 p.m. and features awards for the favorite dishes of the night and a birthday celebration that includes a cake donated from N’Dulge. (There will be one final Potluck for the Fall 2025 semester on November 21.)

The annual Community Trick or Treat event will take place in the Student Leadership Center on Thursday, October 30. A variety of clubs, organizations, and departments will be handing out “treats” and participants can watch the Scooby Doo movie in the Small Event Space. Give your costumes a test drive in this family friendly event taking place between 5 – 7 p.m. There will also be a table where visitors will be able to decorate pumpkins.

We are excited to welcome the community to these events,” commented Director of Global Wellbeing and Civic Wellbeing Cyan Corwine. “We hope to see great numbers of participants for both the Potluck and for the Community Trick or Treat.”

Any questions on either event can be directed to civicengagement@alfredstate.edu.
