Christopher D. Anderton, 73, Wellsville

Christopher D. ANDERTON, 73, of Wellsville, NY, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2025 in Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester.  Born May 6, 1952, in Oil City, PA, he was the son of Alfred D. and Joan M. Barclay Anderton.  A 1971 graduate of Wellsville High School, he served honorably with the U.S. Army from 1971 — 1974.  He graduated from Alfred State College in 1977.  Chris was employed by Air Preheater Company in Wellsville as an Aftermarket Sales Representative.  He was a member of Morrison Hayes American Legion Post No. 702 in Wellsville and the Wellsville Moose Lodge No. 601. Chris enjoyed his corvette, was an avid bowler, and was a huge Pittsburgh Steelers, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Pittsburgh Penguins fan.  

Surviving are: his longtime partner, Beverly Kruger of Wellsville; two sons, John Anderton and Daniel Anderton, both of Wellsville; a brother, Jeff (Nancy Alt) Anderton of Wellsville; a sister, Jane Sigler of Boynton Beach, FL; as well as several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents; and an uncle, Micheal Barkley.  

Friends may call Wednesday, October 29, 2025 from 5:00 — 7:00 PM at Olney-Foust & Embser Funeral Home, 34 West State Street, Wellsville, NY.  

Private burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Wellsville.  Military Rites will be accorded by members of the Wellsville American Legion Honor Guard.  Memorials may be made to the SPCA serving Allegany County.
