Bath, NY — November 2025 – The Steuben County Legislature has officially proclaimed November as Adoption Awareness Month, honoring the remarkable families who open their hearts and homes to children through adoption.

The proclamation recognizes the compassion, strength, and dedication of adoptive families throughout Steuben County and highlights the importance of providing safe, nurturing, and permanent homes for children in need. Adoption not only transforms the lives of children but also enriches the lives of parents, siblings, and entire communities.

Steuben County continues its strong commitment to supporting adoption and family services through the Department of Social Services, which works tirelessly to connect children with loving homes and to provide ongoing support for families throughout the adoption process.

The county celebrates the bonds that unite families of all forms and reaffirms its belief that love, kindness, and dedication are the foundation of a strong and caring community.
