A fleet of 50 snowplows are “ready to roll”
From Steuben County,
BATH, NY — With snow in the forecast for next week, the Steuben County Department of Public Works (DPW) is gearing up for another winter season of snow and ice maintenance across county roads.
“Our crews are ready to roll,” said Eric Rose, Steuben County DPW Commissioner. “With the first measurable snowfall expected soon, our teams have been preparing equipment, calibrating salt spreaders, and reviewing routes to ensure we’re ready the moment the weather turns.”
The Steuben County DPW operates a fleet of over 50 snowplows, each fully equipped to clear snow and apply salt and sand to maintain safe driving conditions throughout the winter months. Crews will be working long hours—often through the night—to keep roads as clear and safe as possible for residents, commuters, and emergency vehicles.
Rose reminds drivers to use extra caution when winter weather hits:
“We ask all motorists to slow down, give plow trucks plenty of room to work, and remember that conditions can change quickly. Our crews are out there to keep you safe—please help keep them safe, too.”
The Department of Public Works thanks the public for their patience and cooperation as they work to keep Steuben County moving safely this winter season.
