NYSP: 35 year old Campbell man charged with violently assaulting a child

Allen P. Jerome faces five felony charges

The New York State Police in Painted Post have arrested Allen P. Jerome, 35, of Campbell, NY, following an investigation into allegations of long-term sexual abuse involving a juvenile victim.

On November 12, 2025, investigators from the Bureau of Criminal Investigation (BCI) in Painted Post were contacted by Steuben County CPS after a report was filed through the New York State Child Abuse Hotline. The report indicated that a 15-year-old had disclosed ongoing sexual abuse.

An investigation determined that the abuse occurred over several years at a residence in the town of Campbell. A search warrant was subsequently executed at the residence.

Jerome was charged with the following:

  • Rape 1st (B Felony)
  • Course of Sexual Conduct Against a Child 1st (B Felony)
  • Strangulation 2nd (D Felony)
  • Tampering with Physical Evidence (E Felony)
  • Aggravated Family Offense (E Felony)

Jerome was processed at SP Painted Post and transported to the Steuben County Jail for CAP arraignment. An Order of Protection is being requested on behalf of the victim.

This is an ongoing investigation.
