The Family Meal Project offers free holiday meals
From the SCSO,
The Sheriff’s Office is excited to announce one of this year’s charity initiatives – The Family Meal Project – where inmates will be joining together with community partners to help provide free holiday meals to residents in Steuben and Yates County!
This Christmas season, meals are scheduled to be delivered to:
The Living Well in Penn Yan
Head Start
Bridge of Hope in Corning
The Steuben County Officers Union for distribution to families in need
All food is being generously donated by New England Foods, and our inmate kitchen workers will be working alongside our Food Service Director, Linnea Shumway to carefully assemble these meals. Community members are also coming together to create goody bags filled with essentials to accompany each meal delivery.
Last year, thanks to the incredible generosity of many, The Family Meal Project provided warm, homemade holiday dinners to families in need right here in our community. We are proud to provide opportunities like this to the inmates in our care, giving them the chance to participate in meaningful community service supports personal growth, responsibility, and connection.
