The Hornell Area Humane Society Board of Directors has named Alexandra Morsman as the new Executive Director of their organization. In this role, Morsman will oversee the organization’s strategic direction, staff management and culture, programs, services and fundraising. She’s a passionate animal advocate and proven nonprofit leader whose experience aligns perfectly with our mission. Her guidance will be critical as will expand access to affordable veterinary care, grow our safety net programs for pet owners in need, and launch a new strategic plan for our shelter, among other key initiatives.” says Holly Tucker, Hornell Area Humane Society Board President. “She will bring experience, enthusiasm, great communication skills and a fresh air to our organization. “We’re thrilled to welcome Alex to our team,”
“It has always been important to me to work in a career field that allows me to help others, which is what drew me to non-profit work initially. Being the Executive Director of the Hornell Area Humane Society truly allows me to utilize the non-profit experience I have gained and combine that with my passion for animals, which made taking on the role a very easy choice. I have always personally had a love for animals and contributed through volunteering, fostering, and adopting – but I am incredibly excited to be able to make a much larger impact through this role” said Morsman, helping homeless pets find new families, keeping animals in their homes and preventing cruelty.
Prior to joining the Hornell Humane Society, Morsman was the Health and Nutrition Manager for Pro Action of Steuben and Yates, Inc.
Morsman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Wellness Management from State University of New York at Oswego and an Associate of Liberal Arts and Sciences degree: Humanities and Social Sciences from Corning Community College.
