Yesterday We Stopped Down To The Village Of Hammondsport Village Barn To Take A Look At The Aftermath Of The Fire That Swept Through The Building Early February 4th, 2026. As You Can See, Multiple Vehicles, Pieces Of Equipment & Structure Were Lost During The Fire. While Many Theories Have Been Made On What Started The Fire But Nothing Confirmed As Of Yet.
“When we got here, we lost everything. We had two one-tons, a street sweeper, a tank truck, a brand new backhoe, a pickup, fork lift, and I think 10 to 11 heavy pieces of equipment. A brand new police truck was in the bay that was only on the road for a month, so we lost everything we had,” said Chris McConnell, Supervisor of the Hammondsport DPW and the First Assistant Chief for the Hammondsport Fire Department
