Ellen T. Flanagan, party of the Bully Hill Family remembered: “Wish I was there to see it. When I was a wee one we ice skated every winter and there was ice boating along with men ice fishing. They would cut a hole in the ice, sit there and fish. My Dad Greyton Taylor said he and others would drive their cars across the lake. No one ever fell through. I went ice skating after school. Great times”

Brenda Morrissey Abraham remembered-

We live on Owasco Lake and it, too, is completely frozen. First time in about 10 years.

DonnaJean Runner went way back….

My grandfather “Hallie Hardenbrook Runner” ice skated from Hammondsport to Penn Yan in his youth. Pre-1918.

Paul Donovan reckoned back to and old friend –

Back in the 70’s Bobby Quackenbush & I walked the frozen lake from Red Jacket to the college. Still remember the noises of the shifting ice. Quite an experience

James Lashure went back almost 60 years-

Last time I saw it like that was 1968. We drove the car out on it to go ice fishing
