Michael “Mike” Caschera, 79, formerly of Wellsville

Michael W. CASCHERA, 79, formerly of Wellsville, NY, died unexpectedly on Monday, December 8, 2025, in his sleep in Tucson, AZ. 

Born September 23, 1946, in Wellsville, he was the son of Arthur and Louise Caschera. A 1964 graduate of Wellsville High School, he served with the U.S Army in Vietnam during the Tet Offensive in 1968 and was honorably discharged in 1971. 

Mike worked various jobs while in Wellsville, including bartending with his brother at the Pit Stop Tavern and was a currier for North Star Bank. He was a machine operator in Mountain View, CA and was last employed by the U.S. Postal Service in Tucson, retiring in 2016.

Mike was a quiet person but made friends easily. His favorite pastimes werfe working on his many automobiles, watching NASCAR, and cheering on his favorite NFL team, the Buffalo Bills. 

Surviving are: two brothers, Thomas Caschera of Wellsville and Joseph Caschera of Los Gatos, CA; five nephews, Kevin (Holly Burger) Caschera of Wellsville, Steven (Diana) Caschera of Rogue River, OR, Kris (Lori) Caschera of Sahuarita, AZ, Toby Caschera and Ben Caschera, both of Los Gatos, CA.

He was predeceased by his parents; and sisters-in-law, Darlene Caschera and Anne Caschera.

Burial, with military rites, will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Wellsville on a later date. Memorials may be made to Wellsville Elks or Morrison Hayes American Legion Post #702.
