The Tri-County YMCA of NY proudly celebrated the grand opening of its newest childcare facility today, the Bath YMCA Early Learning Center, located at 36 E. Morris Street in Bath, New York. This marks the YMCA’s third daycare center opened in less than three years, reflecting the organization’s continued commitment to expanding access to high-quality childcare for families in the region.
The Bath YMCA Early Learning Center is designed to serve children across multiple age groups, including:
8 infants
10 toddlers
18 preschoolers
18 school aged children
Additional school-aged classrooms are planned to open in the near future, which will further expand childcare opportunities for families in the community.
The center currently employs 11 full-time and part-time staff members, with additional positions available as the program continues to grow. The YMCA is actively hiring and is now accepting applications for childcare enrollment. Families will also be able to apply for summer camp beginning in May.

Opening the new center was a major effort led by Rashell Pastore, Vice President of Childcare Operations; Samantha Hanbach, Early Learning Director; and Marion Horton, Daycare Coordinator. The team worked tirelessly to prepare the facility, ensuring it met every requirement set by the New York State Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS) as well as the YMCA’s own rigorous policies, procedures, and high standards for safety and quality care.
“This center represents so much more than just a building,” said Rashell Pastore, Vice President of Childcare Operations. “It represents opportunity for families, a safe and nurturing place for children to learn and grow, and the dedication of an incredible team that worked tirelessly to make this vision a reality. We are proud to continue expanding childcare access in our community and to provide the high-quality care families deserve.”
Samantha Hanbach, Early Learning Director, also reflected on the effort behind the project. “Opening a new childcare center takes months of planning, teamwork, and commitment. We worked hard to make sure every classroom, policy, and program met both state regulations and the YMCA’s high standards. Seeing children and families walk through the doors today makes all of that work worth it.”
The grand opening was also attended by a representative for Nicholas Langworthy, who presented the center with a Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition honoring the YMCA’s dedication to strengthening the community and expanding access to quality childcare services.
“We are beyond proud to offer another high-quality childcare facility that goes above and beyond for the children and families we serve,” YMCA leadership added.
Families interested in enrolling their children or learning more about available programs are encouraged to contact the center for more information.
