Mark the calendar for April 25 and keep Hornell happening!
From Hornell Partners for Growth,
HORNELL, NY — The Hornell VFW Post 2250 is stepping up once again to support the community by hosting a special fundraising event on Saturday, April 25, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Hornell Partners for Growth (HPG) to help ensure that many of the city’s most popular events remain free for residents and visitors alike.
The fundraiser will feature a yard sale, basket raffle, and bake sale, offering something for everyone while supporting a meaningful cause. Community members are encouraged to attend, shop, and participate in the raffle, with all funds raised going directly toward HPG’s annual events.
“These events are a big part of what makes Hornell special,” said organizers. “By keeping them free, we make sure that families of all backgrounds can come together and enjoy everything our community has to offer.”
Funds raised will help support a wide range of well-loved events organized by HPG, including the Wildflower Festival, 4th of July Celebration, Thursdays at the Square concert series, and the Maple City Festival, among others. These events bring Hundreds of people into Hornell each year, supporting local businesses while creating opportunities for families to gather and celebrate.
In preparation for the fundraiser, the VFW is currently seeking donations from the community. Items for the yard sale, themed baskets for the raffle, and baked goods are all needed. Donation drop-offs will take place from April 20 through April 24.
The VFW’s commitment to giving back highlights the strong partnership between local organizations and HPG, working together to enhance quality of life in Hornell. Events like this fundraiser play a critical role in offsetting costs associated with entertainment, activities, and programming—ensuring that the community can continue to enjoy high-quality events without financial barriers.
Residents are encouraged to support the effort by donating items, attending the event, or spreading the word.
For more information or to arrange a donation, community members can contact Val at HPG at 607-385-3053 anytime or drop off at the VFW Post 2250 during the collection week.
