New outdoor 100 meter dash record after 36 years!

๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐! Hornell junior ๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ ๐๐ก๐ข๐ญ๐ broke a 36 year old Hornell High School Track record in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.18! The previous record stood since 1990 at a time of 12.2 set by Hornell Sports Hall of Famer ๐๐๐ญ๐ก ๐ ๐๐ซ๐ซ๐๐ฅ๐ฅ.
Saturday’s Tiger Invitational in Warsaw saw several Hornell athletes hit top marks. ๐๐ซ๐ข๐ฃ๐๐ก ๐๐๐ญ๐ญ took first place in the discus throw with a throw of 120′ 02″ and fifth in the shot put throwing 34′ 01″. The boy’s 4×400 team of ๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข๐จ๐ญ ๐๐ฅ๐๐๐ฌ, ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ ๐๐จ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐๐ซ, ๐๐๐ฆ๐๐ฒ๐ง๐ ๐๐ข๐ฑ๐จ๐ง, and ๐๐จ๐ง๐ง๐๐ซ ๐๐๐๐ก๐๐ง took third (4:15.70). Cole also took third in the 200 (24.5), and Demayne took fifth (24.9). Rounding out the points for the boys team, Conner placed third in the 800 with a time of 2:16.8.
On the ladies side, ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ง๐ ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐จ๐ง๐๐๐จ placed first in the long jump (16’7″) and third in triple jump (32’3″). She was also part of the winning 4×400 relay team (4:32) along with ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐ข๐ง๐๐ฒ ๐๐ก๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฌ๐จ๐ง, ๐๐๐ฏ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ง ๐๐ก๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฌ๐จ๐ง and ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ฏ๐ข๐ ๐๐๐ซ๐ซ๐๐ญ๐ญ๐จ. Delainey also placed second in the 400 hurdles (1:13.40), and her sister Davvyn took second in the open 400 (1:07.10). ๐๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ ๐๐ก๐ข๐ญ๐ placed first in the 200 (26.9). ๐๐ฅ๐ข๐ฌ๐ ๐๐จ๐๐ข๐ง ran to a third place title in the 3000 (11:55.20) and then another third place spot in the 1500 (5:38.00). ๐๐ข๐ฅ๐๐ฒ ๐๐๐ซ๐ฐ๐จ๐จ๐ took fifth in the long jump (13’10.5″), ๐๐๐ฎ๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ฌ๐จ๐ง was sixth in the 400 hurdles (1:20.7) and ๐๐๐ฎ๐ซ๐ ๐๐ก๐จ๐ซ๐ค was sixth in the 200 (30.1). Next both the boys and girls teams are away at LeRoy on Tuesday.
