Scot D. Thompson killed brothers Mark and David in the Town of Allen at a family hunting camp
From Allegany County District Attorney Peter Degnan,
Scot D. Thompson, formerly of Englewood, Florida, was indicted April 29, 2026, by an Allegany County Grand Jury, on two counts of Murder in the Second Degree for the intentional killing of his two brothers, Mark Thompson and David Thompson.
This Indictment stems from allegations that in the late evening hours of November 23, 2025, at a hunting cabin on Botsford Hollow Road in the Town of Allen, Scot D. Thompson did intentionally kill Mark Thompson and David Thompson, by shooting them both with a rifle.
Scot D. Thompson faces a maximum of 25 years to life in the New York State Department of Corrections if convicted on these charges. Scot D. Thompson is currently being held at the Allegany County Jail without bail.
The investigation of this case involved law enforcement cooperation from the New York State Police, Allegany County Sheriffs Office, Livingston County Sheriff’s Office, and the Geneseo Police Department, as well as out of state law enforcement agencies.
This case was presented to the Grand Jury by Acting District Attorney Peter J. Degnan and Acting First Assistant District Attorney Danielle A. Ward.
