Summary:
On 4/27/2026 at about 11:54 AM, the City of Hornell Police Department received a delayed complaint from the Monroe County DA’s Office regarding two victims that were struck with a bullet fired in the parking lot of the Hampton INN in Hornell NY. An investigation into the incident revealed that an argument over money prompted the firing of one 9mm round into the back of a fleeing vehicle occupied by three adults. Two of the passengers suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were treated at Rochester General Hospital in Rochester.

Michael Grimmer was taken into custody by Hornell Police, without incident, in the parking lot of the Hampton INN in Hornell NY at 4:52 PM on 4/29/2026.

Status:
Michael Grimmer was transferred to Steuben County CAP pending arraignment.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
