Detour is now in place on Avoca-West Creek Road

Steuben County Commissioner of Public Works Eric Rose announces that the bridge on County Route 7 (Avoca-West Creek Road) over Ten Mile Creek, located between West Creek Road and Everett Road in the Town of Wheeler, will be closed to all through traffic effective immediately on July 17, 2026, to allow for emergency bridge repairs.
The affected structure is Bridge BIN 3332940.
A signed detour will be in place utilizing:
- West Creek Road
- Shader Hill Road
- Mattoon Road
Motorists are urged to use caution, follow the posted detour and allow additional travel time while repairs are completed.
