Police officer bitten in Alfred, 20 year old Jamaica woman charged with felony assault on a police officer

The Village of Alfred police officer was bit on the arm and hand, subject released on bail

From the Village of Alfred Police Department,

On October 8, 2026, at approximately 10:46 p.m., the Alfred Police Department arrested a 20-year-old of Jamaica, New York, following an incident on Main Street in the Village of Alfred.

Officers were dispatched to Main Street for a reported disturbance between a male and female. Upon arrival, officers observed an active physical altercation in which the accused was allegedly assaulting the male. When an officer attempted to take Johnson into custody, she allegedly became combative and bit the officer in the hand and arm area. A second officer arrived on scene and assisted in subduing the accused.

The 20 year old female was arrested and charged with Assault on a Police Officer (Class C felony), Resisting Arrest, Obstructing Governmental Administration in the Second Degree, and Disorderly Conduct.

The accused was processed and released and is scheduled to appear in Alfred Village Court at a later date.

The injured officer was transported to a local hospital for treatment and was later released.

All charges are allegations, and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
