A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Community from Laura and Linda
To our dear friends, clients, and community,
As we close the chapter on The Hairdressers, our hearts are filled with gratitude for the many wonderful people who have been part of our journey over the past 40-plus years.
In 1980 Laura Pielow and her original business partner, Jeanette Graham, opened The Hairdressers. For the first years they were located in the “McDonald’s plaza on the Bolivar Road and then in 1982 moved into 110 North Main Street in downtown Wellsville.

Together, they remodeled the building and purchased the property, laying the foundation for what would become so much more than a place to have your hair done. It became a place where friendships were formed, stories were shared, laughter was enjoyed, and lives were connected.
When Jeanette retired, Laura invited her sister, Linda Derrick, to join her in the business. Laura took care of the business side of things, while Linda enjoyed making the salon feel welcoming and beautiful through decorating. Together, we continued the work and relationships that had become such a meaningful part of our lives.
Our decision to retire and close the salon came with mixed emotions. After so many years, it was not easy to say goodbye. Along with retirement, we felt called to spend more time caring for our mom, and we knew it was time to begin a new chapter.

We want to express our sincere thanks to everyone who supported us throughout the years—not only here in the village of Wellsville and the surrounding communities, but also to our friends and clients who traveled from Pennsylvania and beyond. Thank you for choosing us, trusting us, and allowing us to be part of your lives. Your loyalty meant more to us than words can adequately express.
Over the years, you became so much more than clients. You became our friends, and in many cases, you became like family. We have been blessed to share in your joys, listen to your stories, celebrate your milestones, and walk alongside you through both happy and difficult seasons of life. Those memories are treasures we will carry with us always.
As we look back, we sincerely hope that, through our words, our actions, and the way we treated others, we carried the name of Jesus well. Our faith has been an important part of our lives, and it is our hope that the love and kindness we tried to show reflected His love for you. If there is one thing we would want to leave with you, it is this: Jesus loves you, and we encourage you to know Him personally and choose to follow Him. There is no greater blessing than the hope, peace, and eternal promise found in Him.
Please know that we deeply appreciate you, love you, and will miss seeing your familiar faces and sharing in the everyday conversations that made our days so special. While we may no longer be standing behind our salon chairs, the friendships and memories we have made will always hold a special place in our hearts.

Thank you for allowing us the privilege of serving you for more than four decades. We feel incredibly blessed to have been part of this wonderful community, and we wish each and every one of you the very best in the years ahead.
With grateful hearts and much love,
Laura Pielow & Linda Derrick
