Taylor Waite and Derek McCumiskey take the oath to “protect and serve”

The Hornell Police Department officially welcomed its two newest officers during a swearing-in and badge pinning ceremony held at the department on Wednesday afternoon.
Police Officers Taylor Waite and Derek McCumiskey took the Oath of Office and were sworn in by Hornell City Clerk Amy Patrick. Officer Waite recently transferred from the Norwich Police Department, where she served for over a year. Officer McCumiskey is a provisional officer, who recently completed the police academy at Alfred State College, and is beginning his field training.
Chief Ted Murray states, “We are excited that Officers Waite and McCumiskey have been sworn in and wear the badge as officers of the Hornell Police Department. They are two great people, who we believe will be great officers for our department.”
