Truck driver Corey McAbier is ready to get off the road after driving buses and tractor trailers for almost a decade. Leaving on a long haul trip, with a small family growing at home, is getting harder and harder. Since his young family started, Corey has wanted to start a small business that will allow him to work from a home office using his experience on the road.
Corey loves his work at Schneider, and takes inspiration from the entreprenueral spirit of the company founder Al Schneider:
“In 1935 Al Sold his only family vehicle to purchase his first truck for the company that has now become Schneider National Carriers, and while Schneider is now a publicly traded company, it remained family owned and operated until 2017,” explained McAbier.
Always wanting to own his own business, Corey has formed a corporation in New York State and founded Black Wolf Dispatching. A dispatch service is a key part of the trucking and transport industry: organizing, scheduling, and communicating with drivers and customers. While many of the larger carriers like Schnieder have the budget for a dispatch department, smaller operations often are faced with the dispatching, the driving, and the dishes when they get home!
Black Wolf seeks to take the proverbial “load” off the owner/operators who are putting in fourteen hour days, before they do the necessary planning for the next day. Corey wants all owner operators and small fleet owners that he understands and can help:
