Mary Jane Regel (née Craig) passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025, just eight days before what would have been her ninetieth birthday.

Born to Annabelle C. Craig (née McKinley) and Charles P. Craig, Mary Jane was the eldest of three children, preceded in death by her younger brothers John P. Craig and Philip C. Craig. She was the devoted wife of Retired Colonel Thomas J. Regel and the cherished mother of Kristin Anne Regel. Mary Jane dedicated her professional life to education, serving first as a teacher and later as the beloved principal of St. Thomas More Catholic School in San Antonio, Texas, where she touched countless young lives. Upon retirement, she relocated to Dallas to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren, Nicholas (17) and Andrew Regel-Beys (16).

A true intellectual, Mary Jane was an avid reader, accomplished world traveler, and lifelong learner who approached life with curiosity and grace. Those who knew her will remember her sharp intellect, and above all, her genuinely kind heart. As a mother and grandmother, she was a constant, loving presence who gave generously of herself to all who were fortunate enough to know her.

Mary Jane’s legacy of love, wisdom, and generosity will live on in the hearts of her family and the many lives she touched throughout her remarkable ninety years.
