The Arc Allegany-Steuben is excited to announce its upcoming Sensory-Friendly Movie Night, designed to provide a welcoming and inclusive experience for people with disabilities. The free event will take place on Monday, September 29th at the Spotlight of Hornell Movie Theater, 191 Main Street, Hornell, NY. Doors open at 5:00 PM and the movie begins at 6:00 PM.

This family-friendly evening has been specially tailored to meet the needs of people with sensory sensitivities. The environment will feature lower sound levels, gentle lighting, and a safe space for movement, talking, singing, or dancing. Sensory items will also be available to ensure that all guests feel comfortable and supported.

“Creating spaces where people with disabilities can enjoy community experiences without barriers is at the heart of what we do,” said Kristen Babbitt, The Arc Allegany-Steuben’s Community Relations Coordinator. “Our Sensory-Friendly Movie Night offers a fun, inclusive environment where everyone can enjoy the magic of movies together.”

The event is free and open to anyone with a disability; you do not have to be served by The Arc Allegany-Steuben. Seating is limited, and advance registration is required.

RSVP by September 19th to Kristen Babbitt at kristen.babbitt@thearcas.org or 585-808-7907 to secure your spot.
