The Hornell Red Raiders remain unbeaten and improve to 7-0-0 after their shutout win on the road against the Addison Knights Friday night.
Senior Nash Adams played the full game in goal and tallied two saves in the win.
Hornell got in the board early and scored two quick goals to put the Raiders up 2-0 at 36:00. Senior Wyatt Evingham scored on a penalty kick, and less than a minute later, senior sweeper, Demayne Dixon found the back of the net with a direct kick more than 50 yards out.
Evingham earned a hat trick, scoring 3 goals in the win. Jayden Rasephei also scored for the Raiders. Ryan Harkenrider had 2 assists.
“I’m very pleased with the overall play the boys exhibited tonight,” commented Hornell coach Jim Tobin. “Nash Adams stepped in goal tonight to earn the shutout. We came out strong in the first half to go up 5-0. Wyatt’s 3 goals were big. Ryan Harkenrider had a solid game on defense and also had 2 assists.”
The Red Raiders are back on the road Tuesday for a matchup with Class B powerhouse LeRoy/Cal-Mum (6-1-0).
