From ACDC,

Belmont, NY – The Allegany County Democratic Committee (ACDC) will collect nonperishable food and personal care items for the Alfred University Food Pantry at its monthly “Coffee with Democrats” event.  The federal government’s unlawful withholding of SNAP funds has ramped up the urgency to help those less fortunate.

ACDC organizes donations for a different local charity each month and has helped dozens of organizations in recent years. In this way, the committee lives its motto “Serving our Community.” This month’s collection takes place on Sat., Nov. 8th from 10 a.m. to noon at the Alfred Village Hall, 7 W. University St.  Coffee and light snacks will be served. Sign up here to attend.

The mission of the Alfred University Food Pantry is “to support the Alfred University campus community and surrounding area by providing healthful food options to those who may need them.”  It specifically requests donations of canned and boxed foods, allergen-free items, and cooking oils and spices as well as personal care products like tampons, shampoo, and deodorant.

The Allegany County Democratic Committee is the official governing body for the County Party, working toward broader representation by Democrats at the local, state, and national levels.  To learn more, visit www.acdcny.org, or contact us at 585-610-4321, info@acdcny.org, or on Facebookfacebook.com/alleganycodems ), Threads  (  threads.net/@allegany_ny_dems  ), or Bluesky  ( @allegany-ny-dems.bsky.social ).  Sign up to receive our monthly e-communications here
