Meet Aaron Gies, from aaronforny23.com
A real leader listens with respect, responds with honesty and works with integrity. Across the district, the American Dream is slipping away from working families. Aaron has a plan to reclaim it.
As a teacher and nonprofit leader, Aaron Gies has focused on building up communities and serving others.
The son of a self-employed contractor and a school secretary, Aaron learned the value of hard work and education early in life. His faith led him into service as a music director, where he worked to build teams of volunteers, and into education, where he earned a PhD and now works to pass on St. Bonaventure University’s Franciscan values of compassion, integrity and wisdom.
Outside the classroom, Aaron serves as bookkeeper and handyman for his wife’s Main Street business and helps to run a non-profit vegetable farm. Aaron understands the unique economic and social challenges facing small towns and rural communities and the pride that comes from resilience.
Aaron believes government works best when it backs everyday people by focusing on fairness and opportunity.
