Photo Essay from Janie Ferguson, pictured is a Cooper’s Hawk
It is currently 3* out this morning at 6:50 am. The school bus is here to pick up the neighborhood children, and it is still dark out.
I begin today with a sassy blue jay enjoying sunflower seeds, and an immature cooper’s hawk, in my frozen bird bath! That is not what you want to look up and see near your bird feeders, as this hawk eats other birds.

Then a rare view of a leucistic dark-eyed junco. Which means he has a lack of pigment issue. A tufted titmouse in the snow, and a delightful goldfinch as the snow continues to come down.

Stay safe, and warm, and I hope you enjoy your weekend, Janie
