Allard thanks Correction Officers, reports two felony arrests
Aggravated Criminal Contempt Warrant Arrest
Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on April 30, 2022, deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Jeramiah P. Mendez, age 33, of Wall Street, Naples, New York. It is alleged that in July of 2021 Mr. Mendez violated a duly served order of protection by contacting a protected person in Prattsburgh, New York. It is further alleged that Mr. Mendez was previously convicted of criminal contempt. Mr. Mendez was arrested due to the issuance of a warrant in connection with these allegations. Mr. Mendez was charged with Aggravated Criminal Contempt, a class D Felony. Mr. Mendez was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and held in lieu of $100 cash bail.

Grand Larceny, Issuing a Bad Check Warrant Arrest
Steuben County Sheriff Jim Allard reports that on April 29, 2022, deputies of the Steuben County Sheriff’s Office arrested Sheldon E. Willow, age 54, of Ward Street, Osceola, Pennsylvania. It is alleged that in October of 2019 Mr. Willow took $1,200 in cash from another person without permission in the Town of Lindley. It is further alleged that in August of 2021 Mr. Willow knowingly wrote bad checks in the amount of $2,250 to another person while in the Town of Dansville. Mr. Willow was arrested due to warrants issued based on these allegations. Mr. Willow was charged with Grand Larceny in the Fourth Degree, a class E Felony, Petit Larceny and Issuing a Bad Check. Mr. Willow was arraigned in the Centralized Arraignment Court and held in lieu of $1 cash bail.
