New Yorkers are used to winter weather, but we shouldn’t take this weekend’s forecast lightly.
I’m declaring a State of Emergency to make sure local leaders have the tools to keep their communities safe.

The hazardous conditions could impact the Monday morning and evening commutes. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… Begin needed preparations at home or with your vehicle. Travel may become difficult, so plan accordingly.

• New York State Division of Homeland Security & Emergency Services coordinating with counties
• New York State Department of Transportation and NYS Thruway Authority treating roads
• Metropolitan Transportation Authority – MTA working to minimize disruptions
• 5,500+ utility workers on standby
• Human services agencies protecting our most vulnerable
Please don’t put yourself at risk this weekend. Take steps to prepare now:
• Monitor local forecasts
• Stock up on essentials like food and medication
• Make sure your car has gas
• Plan to stay home once the weather hits
