A popular sportsman and business owner passed away tragically on Sunday after a snowmobiling accident.
Adam Michael Curry, 25, of Dalton, died from the accident according to the Livingston County Sheriff’s Office.
Adam was a hard-working and skilled mason, who enjoyed working alongside his Uncle Curt as part owner of Curry Masonry, his obituary read. Aside from working, Adam also enjoyed the outdoors where he would go hunting, fishing, trapping, snowmobiling, and four-wheeling. He was a member of the Dalton Gang Sportsman Club.
He loved spending time with family and his many friends, whenever he was around. He was sure to make them laugh or smile. Whenever Adam was not out enjoying the outdoors or with family and friends, you could find him out riding around with his loyal canine companion Jane, out shopping for random rubber chickens for a good laugh, or home shopping on Amazon and playing video games.
Adam was born in Hornell and the son Crystal (James Mann) Curry of Nunda and his father, Dustin Curry of Hunt;
Calling hours are Sunday, Feb. 1, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. or 7 to 9 p.m. at the Mann Funeral Home on 44 North State St. in Nunda, N.Y., 14517. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2, 2026, at the Mann Funeral home where Pastor Mark Harley will officiate.

Sheriff’s Deputies said the accident took place on Oakland Road in Portage around 4:45 p.m. on Sunday. Initially, a missing persons report was filed. Livingston County recentied a 911 call for the report of a snowmobile that went into a barn on Smith Road. Deputies said it appeared there was a sharp curve that may have caused the accident.
The Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Livingston County Patrol Division, Criminal Investigations Division and Forensic Identification Unit, as well as the Nunda Police Department, Nunda Fire Department, Nunda Ambulance, Livingston County ALS, New York State Park Police and the Livingston County Coroner’s Office.
