Clark also serves as the President of the Hornell City Schools Board of Education
From the City of Hornell,
The City of Hornell Common Council unanimously approved the appointment of Christopher Clark as Commissioner for the Board of Public Works at its January meeting.
Clark fills the seat previously held by Jared Zigenfus, who has served as Commissioner since January 2018. Mayor John Buckley thanked Zigenfus for his years of service, stating, “Jared has done an excellent job as Board of Public Works Commissioner. He brought a wealth of knowledge from his employment with the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT). Jared was recently promoted within NYSDOT, which will limit his ability to continue serving as Commissioner. We appreciate all of Jared’s hard work and efforts and wish him the best with his promotion.”
Christopher Clark is a 1998 graduate of the Hornell City School District and currently serves as President of the Hornell City School District Board of Education, in his second term on the board. Clark is also an engaged member of the Hornell community, including his involvement as an assistant coach for the Girls’ Varsity Basketball team and his prior service as a volunteer youth basketball coach with the Hornell YMCA.
Mayor Buckley noted the value Clark brings to the role, saying, “Chris has demonstrated a strong commitment to the Hornell community through his service on the school board. That experience includes working with and advancing capital projects, which will be an asset to the Board of Public Works.”
Clark’s term began on February 1, 2026, and will run through January 31, 2028. He will serve alongside Joseph Liberto, who was also reappointed as Commissioner at the January meeting.
