Join the Happy Harvest Garden Club! A partnership between CCE Allegany County and the Almond 20th Century Club Library

From Cornell Cooperative Extension Serving Allegany County,

Are you ready to start growing your vegetables, herbs, and flowers successfully? Cornell Cooperative Extension Allegany County is proud to support the Happy Harvest Garden Club, a hands-on, full-season program designed to take you from absolute beginner to confident grower.

Led by Bec Cronk (Director of Programming at the Almond Library) and supported by CCE Ag. Educator Cristian Acosta and Master Gardener Volunteers, this series is built on scientific rigor and budget-friendly practices.

Why Join the 2026 Cohort?

Gardening isn’t just a hobby; it’s a high-return investment in your health and your wallet. By joining, you will:

  • Master the “Green Thumb” System: Learn the first principles of plant growing and common troubleshooting.
  • Produce on a Budget: We focus on low-cost/no-cost methods to build fertility and start healthy plants from seed/seedling.
  • Build Community Assets: Gain hands-on experience by helping build the library’s new raised beds from scratch.
  • Bridge Science and Health: Learn how to maximize the nutrient density of the food you grow.

This gardening club has 5 sessions in 2026, our first class will be Seed Starting Masterclass on March 12, 2026, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Almond 20th Century Club Library, Almond NY.
