Maple City Care Center celebrates a celebrity resident

Celebrating over a century plus two on the planet, Nina Timothy has more than aged gracefully. The entire crew at Maple City Care Center in Hornell NY raves about a woman who inspires, brings joy, laughter, and energy to everyday life.
Nina is like a celebrity in the activities department, known for being one of the most active residents, despite being one of the oldest. Amanda Benesch, the Activities Director at Maple City beams about Nina and how she inspires:
I am honored to share and celebrate one of our beloved residents as she approaches an extraordinary milestone-her 102nd birthday! She continues to inspire those around her. She remains actively engaged in our activity department, participating regularly in a wide variety of group programs. Her favorite pastimes include playing bingo, arts and crafts, reading and especially working on jigsaw puzzles- whether gathered around the table with friends and fellow residents or enjoying a quiet moment piecing one together. Her joyful spirit brings energy and connection to those around her. Nina is just a remarkable woman, friend, mom, grandmother in celebrating 102 wonderful years of life, family and connection. All of us in the activities department adore her!”

Nina’s impact on the Maple City community and amazing milestone birthday got the attention of City of Hornell Mayor John Buckley!! The Mayor offered a big happy birthday on behalf of the City:
““It is truly an honor to wish Nina Timothy a very happy 102nd birthday. Reaching this remarkable milestone is a testament to a life filled with strength, grace, and resilience. Nina’s joyful spirit and active involvement at Maple City Care Center are an inspiration to us all. On behalf of the City of Hornell, I thank her for the example she sets and wish her a birthday filled with the same joy she brings to everyone around her.”
One endearing example of how Nina makes life better is her attitude and sense of humor. Whenever she leaves the activity room for the night she always says “Heading over the Hill”. Known for having many close friends at Maple City, Nina loves nicknames and calls one good friend in the housekeeping, “Cupcake.”
Jodi Z. says this of Nina, “A wonderful and amazing woman that deserves all the happiness and blessings!”
Our Administrator William Robinson says, “Nina is a sweetheart and I enjoy her visits to my office. She is simply a joy to know and a blessing to this facility.”
Perhaps Nina’s #1 fan, Amanda Benesch had to have the last word for this year’s birthday celebration:
