IMPACT: Friends Improving Allegany County Trails, Inc.
From IMPACT,
I Love My Park Day is a statewide event organized by Parks & Trails New York (PTNY) to facilitate a day of volunteer activity in various locations across the State to prepare New York State’s parks and New York State Department of Environmental Conservation recreation areas for the spring and summer season of outdoor activities.
To celebrate I Love My Park Day, IMPACT: Friends Improving Allegany County Trails, Inc. (IMPACT) is sponsoring a spring clean up on Saturday, May 2, 2006. This year the location is the Stewart Forest Road Horse Camping Area, accessible from Turnpike Rd. or the North-South Rd in West Almond, New York.

IMPACT volunteers will be restaining the accessible horse ramp, sweeping debris from picnic shelters, cleaning up wood debris from camping areas, and repairing the kiosk bulletin board. Please bring loppers, pruners, and wheelbarrows to prune and move wood. Firewood collection and accessible horse ramp staining are family friendly projects.
Volunteers can meet at the Stewart Forest Road Horse Camping Area at 9 am. All volunteers will be asked to sign a Volunteer Steward Agreement for the day. Please bring a picnic lunch to enjoy after the work is completed. Water will be supplied by IMPACT.
Pre-registration is required. To register, go to: www.ptny.org/events/i-love-my-park-day.
