Four local school superintendent’s plunge into Lake Salubria

From Steuben County,

BATH, NY — April 24, 2026 — The 35th Annual Tyrtle Beach Fundraiser delivered an unforgettable evening on Friday at Lake Salubria, as regional school superintendents took the plunge during Jump Day in what is shaping up to be a near record-setting year.

At approximately 6:30 PM, this year’s jumpers — including local school superintendents Matthew Pfleegor (Avoca CSD), Kelly Houck (Bath CSD), Jason Rosno (Campbell-Savona CSD), Brian Corey (Hammondsport CSD), and Kory Bay (Prattsburgh CSD) — entered the water to the cheers of a crowd of more than 100 attendees gathered along the shoreline.

The event drew strong community support, with multiple local vendors, organizations, and agencies on-site, creating an energetic and celebratory atmosphere centered around giving back.

Early estimates indicate that around $40,000 has been raised through this year’s efforts, with funds continuing to come in. Proceeds from the Tyrtle Beach Fundraiser benefit the Tyrtle Beach Steuben Youth Services Fund, with 100% of the money raised going directly back into youth programs, organizations, and non-profits throughout Steuben County.

This event continues to showcase the strength, generosity, and spirit of our community, organizers noted. From our jumpers to our supporters and local partners, it’s inspiring to see so many people come together for the benefit of our youth.

The application window for organizations seeking funding remains open through April 30, 2026. Interested groups are encouraged to apply at: http://www.tyrtlebeach.com/tbapply.html

Donations can still be made online at: http://tyrtlebeach.com/
