From the banks of the Canisteo River

Photojournal by Janie Ferguson,

It is currently 54*, and sunny here this morning at 8:15 am. It’s supposed to be a nice day out, and get up to 71* today, too.

I begin this week with a handsome, male, red belly woodpecker enjoying suet, and Esther waving as she heads out with her family for a kayak ride. They are all on the Canisteo River, and they headed out from the boat launch here in Cameron Mills, NY.

Then a male downy woodpecker trying to scare off a male Baltimore oriole. He does succeed!

Next Ronnie helps his dad Ron carry the canoe down to the river, as his grandpa Ron & Uncle River are chatting there, too.

Next a lovely, female, Baltimore oriole enjoying an orange, and a shot of Ronnie getting his 1st ride in the canoe with his dad, using all the precautions to keep him safe as they head down stream towards Rathbone.

Then an orchard oriole male enjoying grape jelly. It was a delight to see a new bird at my feeders.

I end today with a shot of my grandchildren Toby, Winston & Elizabeth watching from the bridge as their family heads around the bend towards Rathbone. and they finish their ride safely in Addison, getting out just behind the school.

What a beautiful week to enjoy my Feathered Friends, and family along the river, too. I hope you enjoyed them, too.

Enjoy your weekend,

Janie
