NY-23 Candidates Aaron Gies wins in landslide, NY Comptroller DiNapoli easily dominates, Ellman wins NY-24 nod

Voters from both Republican and Democrat parties went to the polls yesterday to choose candidates for the November 3 general elections. Just under three thousand cast a ballot in the election, or 4.5% of the electorate.

On the NY State level, incumbent Comptroller Tom DiNapoli received overwhelming support, earning just shy of 73% of the vote.

In Congressional primary contests, Democrats choose Cattaraugus County professor and community activist Aaron Gies to appear on the November 3 ballot opposing incumbent NY-23 Congressman Nick Langworthy. Gies received a whopping 82.5% of the votes cast. In the NY-24 district, Democrat Allisa Ellman earned a near plurality of the votes in Steuben County, 65.97% of ballots cast.

In the Town of Campbell, Norman Maynard handily prevailed over Jeffery Horton in the Republican contest. Wendalyn VanZile was dominate in the primary for Town of Corning Justice, Heather Ford will be on the November ballot for Town of Erwin councilmember.

Republican voters in the town of Lindley gave broad support to Patrick Clark for Town Supervisor and Dylan Hill for town Highway Supervisor.

In the Town of Rathbone, Kevin Clark was the clear choice to be on the November ballot running for Town Council.
