Steuben County Celebrates the Town of Hornby’s Bicentennial

The Steuben County Legislature proudly recognized the Town of Hornby on the occasion of its 200th Anniversary, honoring two centuries of history, community, and service to the residents of Steuben County.

During the June 22 meeting of the Steuben County Legislature, Chair Kelly H. Fitzpatrick presented a proclamation commemorating Hornby’s bicentennial and recognizing the town’s enduring contributions since its founding in 1826.

For 200 years, the Town of Hornby has been an important part of Steuben County, building a legacy rooted in hard work, and resilience. Through the dedication of its Town Board, local leaders, and generations of residents, Hornby has played a significant role in the growth and development of both Steuben County and the surrounding Southern Tier region.

“Reaching a bicentennial is a remarkable milestone,” said county officials. “The Town of Hornby’s rich history, commitment to its residents, and enduring community spirit are worthy of celebration. We congratulate the town on 200 years of achievement and look forward to its continued success for generations to come.”

The proclamation encourages all Steuben County residents to join in celebrating Hornby’s past accomplishments while recognizing the vibrant future that lies ahead.
